A Formalist Analysis of Mohtasham Kashani’s Tarkib-band Based on Form and Meaning Point of View

Abstract:
Mohtasham Kashani, the great elegist of Islamic World, revolutionized the form of elegies with his famous Tarkib-band, in a way that no other poet has ever done so before and after him. One of the main concerns of this study is analyzing the relation between the inner and outer form of his poems. After analyzing the contents of his Tarkib-band, we reach to this fact that, there is a strong connection between its form and meaning. The form of this poem, which is a combination of eloquent and rhetorical signs that, creates a strong link between the structure and meaning while avoiding the complexions of meaning and form. Concern of writer is to manifest how Mohtasham was able to use sings and linguistic pictures in order to convey his massage, reach the pinnacle of meaning in his poem, and to show the greatness and firmness of his words combined with ingenuity. Creating symmetry between words, applying melody delineating artistically and creative defamilirization and using heroic tone are some of this Tarkib-band’s features, which brought firmness and attention of people and other poets toward this poem
